Looking Deeper At The Rapture
And Second Coming Doctrines;
Introducing The Night-trib Position!
Bible Prophecy: The Seven Letters To
The Churches
Expounded!
The Sign
Immediately after the tribulation of those days
shall the
sun be darkened, and the moon shall
not give
her light, and the stars shall fall from
heaven,
and the powers of the heavens shall be
shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son
of man in
heaven: and then shall all the tribes of
the earth
mourn. . . . (Matt. 24:29-30)
The disciples asked the Lord an intriguing
question: "Tell us . . . What shall be the
sign of thy coming, and the
end of the world?" (Matt. 24:3). Due to their Jewish heritage, a sign was
more than essential to the disciples. Indeed, to them, a sign authenticated
an event to be of God (Isa. 7:14; Luke 2:12). For which reason, Satan will
seek to counterfeit signs through the Antichrist to deceive the Jews: "Even
him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and
lying wonders" (1 Thess. 2:9). Despite Satans fraudulent signs in the Great
Tribulation, there will be one sign that will stop every one of His lying
wonders: the sign of the Son of man coming in the heavens.
The opening of Revelation 12 pictures a woman in
Heaven clothed with the sun: "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a
woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a
crown of twelve stars" (Rev. 12:1). Distinctively, this great wonder
embodying a woman is also a sign, for the words "sign" and "wonder" are
synonymous in the Greek, and fully interchangeable. To that end, the armies
of God are very much a part of the coming sign of the Son of man at the
Second Coming (Rev. 19:8, 14).
It is the Church that is in Christs presence as He
walks among the candlesticks in Revelation 1:13-16 (Rev. 1:20). There, on
the commencement of the Lords Day, the countenance of Christ is as "the sun
shining in his strength." Therefore, it only stands to reason that once the
Church becomes fully redeemed, She also is in the heavens clothed with the
"Sun of Righteousness." For the "Sun of Righteousness" is none other than
"the bright and Morning Star," Jesus Christ. For it is Christ who breaks
through the heavens with great power and glory at the Second Advent, being
the first light after the nightthe sign of the Son of man.
Besides the fact that most of the woman is in
Heaven, two reasons dictate why the Heavenly Woman in Revelation 12:1 can
also be understood comprehensively as all of Gods people. First, it was the
lineage of Israel (the woman) which brought forth the man child, Christ
Jesus (Rev. 12:5). Second, the moon under her feet represents the lesser
light of Israel that remains here on Earth, that is, once the Church is
totally redeemed and in Heaven. These, then, are the saved of Israel who
remain behind, and are better known biblically as the remnant
of her seed (Matt. 24:32-33;
Rev. 12:17).
Broadly speaking, the lesser light of the moon also
encompasses the future (deep) Great Tribulation converts of spiritual
Smyrna. Historical Smyrna, an early Church, was mostly decimated by her
persecutors as will this future segment of the Church: "be thou faithful
unto death." Corresponding with that fact, Christ in Smyrnas Salutation is
the one who "was dead, and is alive," the
first and the last. Fittingly, Smyrna of tomorrow is a branch of the
future Church presently dead to the Gospel, who will come alive in their
Great Tribulation conversion.
Paralleling what the Persecution Church
experienced at first, so shall Smyrna in the last. Devastatingly, unlike the
present Church that now owns the Blessed Hope of Christ coming (and, unlike
Israels faithful remnant who will have a place prepared for them in the
wilderness12), spiritual Smyrna of tomorrow
will largely suffer martyrdom: "be thou faithful unto death." She is not
appointed to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb.
To these, however, Paul does give an encouraging
word: "Behold, I show [Greek: tell] you a mystery; we shall not all sleep
[die], but we shall all be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last trump: for the
trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we
shall be changed" (1 Cor. 15:51-52).
To understand the timing of the Second
Coming and its resurrection of the "last day" (John 6:40), is to perceive
the timing of the Last Trump at the end of the Great Tribulation: "And the
seventh angel sounded13 .
. . And the
nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time
of the dead, that they should be judged . . ." (Rev. 11:15, 18). Here,
in the immediate and timely context of the following, John coupled the Last
Trump of "the last day" to the traditional Second Coming of Jesus Christ:
"And there appeared a great wonder (sign) in heaven, a woman clothed with
the sun . . ." (Rev. 12:1.). So then, at the Last Trump of the last day
there appeared a great wonder in Heaventhe redeemed Church returning with
Christ upon the Second Advent (Chapter divisions arent in the original
text!).
Upon Christ's
Quick Coming the wise will instantly be like him worldwide, seeing Him as
he is (1 John 3:2; Col. 3:4). And this fact leaves the deduction that if the world
does see Christ's initial return, being unsaved, they won't recognize the Lord as He is. Consider, then, how different
Christ described the slower traditional Second Coming: "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all
the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in
the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
What shall be the sign of His coming and the end of the age, the Second
Coming? "There appeared a great wonder in heaven; a Woman clothed
with the sun." A woman clothed with the first light of Day, the Morning
Star, ultimately reflecting the full glory of Christ as He overtakes the
heavens in His approach to Earth at the Second Coming, and this, at the
dawning of the Lords Day with all His saints (1 Thess. 3:13, 4:14; Jude
14).
Resplendently, Solomon wrote: "Who is she that
looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and
terrible as an army with banners?" (Song of Sol. 6:10). Who is she? She is
the radiant Bride of Jesus Christ and all the righteous of all ages. Then,
altogether, she will be fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as
an army with banners. Being fresh as a new day, "she looketh forth as the
morning"a glorious people prepared for battle upon the dawn of That Day
(Joel 2:2)!
13 The
seventh angels trump is the last trump recorded in the book of Revelation
(Rev. 1:15).

Answer Bible Prophecy Questions)
The Midnight Cry found
in the Parable of the Ten Virgins (Matt. 25:6) symbolizes the beginning of a
new daynamely,
the Day of the Lord. Or the Day of Jesus Christ (Philip. 1:6, 10; 2
Thess. 2:3), being again, the Day of our Redemption (Eph. 4:30). Thus, the
book name: Midnight's Cry , which addresses
the issues of Christianity, while mixing the understanding of end-time
events with sound doctrine and biblical preparedness, and this according to
detailed Bible prophecy. Simply, if the entire
Church were to go up in an automatic at-once Rapture, why then the command
of Jesus to pray always to escape all these things that are coming upon the
world (Luke 21:34-36)?
Moreover, if the chapter
division is removed between 1st Thessalonians
4 & 5, we dont see an at-once pre-trib Rapture, but a return of Jesus Christ within the
Day of the Lord, which in that passage, Paul describes as the birth pangs of
That Day, or the Tribulation period mentioned by our Lord (Matt. 24:8). Additionally, we immediately
behold the "times and seasons," and Christians are then told to watch (1
Thess. 5:6). Yet the world will face "sudden destruction," which in the
Greek means "inescapable destruction," and this, as the Day progresses until
the Second Coming dawn (2nd Pet. 1:19). Then, at that time God, who is
Christ, returns with all of those who sleep in Jesus, and "all His saints"
(1 Thess. 3:13, 4:14; Jude vs. 14).
Midnight's Cry, a 271 page
book of Bible prophecy, outlines the specifics of the Lord's initial Bridegroom Return, and the how of
recognizing the Day of our Redemption and how it starts (Retails $17.49).
